ABOUT

Trayvon Martin is the same age as me, and I remember the day I heard about his murder. I began to obsess over it because I couldn’t wrap my head around how no justice was found. I wanted to create a piece that depicted him as happy, powerful, fun etc. At the time every image of him portrayed a thug, victim, it lacked the context that he was a real person, someone’s child. Hence I created my own image.
