ABOUT
Inspired with Gil Scott-Heron’s “The Revolution will not be televised” in mind, but crafted with J.Cole’s “The Revolution starts inside of you” at heart. In a world addicted to screens; phones, TVs, iPads, computers, digital billboards, screens, screens, screens… I’m afraid truly having our own opinions is a lost art. I’m certain that to leave the matrix you have to “clock out.”And to really be solidified in a mental rebirth you have to go “Off Air.”

To demonstrate this, I painted a young man with a TV head that is fading away as he is becoming LESS programmed. And being that personal growth is indeed a solo journey, there is nothing on the TV for the viewer to watch. After all, we don’t really know what is going on in anyone’s head.

The young man also has one shoe that is untied to represent letting go of parts of your foundation, which I believe to be an aspect of self development. Lastly, the Wu-Tang shirt because…“Wu-Tang is for people that woke up.”
